Dividends

I have an out-of-date dividend cheque. What can I do?

You will need to contact Equiniti, who will inform you of the next steps. To contact Equiniti, please visit help.shareview.co.uk (from here, you can securely email Equiniti with your enquiry).

Can I have my Drax dividends paid directly into my bank or building society account?

Yes. You will need to request a BACS dividend mandate form from Equiniti. To contact Equiniti, please visit help.shareview.co.uk (from here, you can securely email Equiniti with your enquiry).

Will I still receive notification of dividend payments if they are paid direct into my bank or building society account?

Yes, a dividend tax voucher will be sent to your registered address once per year. This tax voucher covers the whole tax year.

Why are Drax dividends now chequeless?

UK dividends are going chequeless primarily to modernise the financial system, reduce fraud, lower corporate costs, and improve environmental sustainability. The shift is part of a broader government-backed initiative. The UK Digitisation Taskforce was established to modernise the UK’s shareholding framework, and the phasing out of paper cheques in favour of direct electronic communications and bank transfers was a core recommendation of this modernisation strategy.

Dividend payments are now paid directly to your bank or building society account, which is quicker and more secure. Having your dividend paid directly into your bank or building society account through the BACS system means:

  • faster and more convenient payment;
  • no more lost or stolen cheques;
  • reduces the risk of fraud; and
  • reduces the amount of paper we use.

If I don’t update my bank mandate what will happen to my dividend?

Your dividend will be retained by our Registrar, Equiniti, until you provide your bank or building society account. Your dividend will not accrue any interest whilst it is being held for you, and Equiniti could charge a fee for the release of your dividend.

What if my bank account is an overseas account?

Equiniti offer an overseas payment service, where they can arrange for payments to be made in over 90 countries worldwide. The fee is usually less than paying a cheque in GBP.

How can I update my bank details?

Log into or register at www.shareview.co.uk to update your bank details. Shareview is a free, easy and secure service that enables you to manage your shareholding online. Alternatively, you can download and complete a bank mandate form here. You can contact Equiniti by visiting shareview.co.uk.
