Drax has been an industry pioneer in developing BECCS and our incubation area has hosted amine solvent, non-amine solvent and metal organic framework (MOF) capture pilots. Drax can help to facilitate your move from the lab to real world biomass flue gas. The incubation area has been designed to support any post combustion capture media pilot (up to 1 tonne per day capture capacity). Our experienced team can support and advise on developing, setting up, commissioning, and operating your pilot plant, as well as providing expertise in environmental requirements and controls.
CCU – Utilisation Opportunities:
- Reliable source of real world biogenic CO2 – Up to 1tpd with option to work on larger volumes
- Access to Industry leader and network who can actively explore utilisation options – Partners include leaders in Carbon Capture and T&S
Drax is currently exploring opportunities with Carbon Utilisation/Conversion companies. Supply of real world Biogenic CO2 is often cited as a barrier to progress in the Carbon Utilisation/Conversion World: Drax intends to make Biogenic CO2 captured in the incubation area available to early stage Utilisation/Conversion companies.
