Energy efficiency
Responding to the challenge of climate change is central to our purpose and strategic aims. In Canada in 2024, we completed energy efficiency projects resulting in a 4% reduction in the overall total of kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions per tonne (kgCO2e/t) of pellets produced.
Supply chain
We’re also proud to support the Enhancing Cetacean Habitat and Observation (ECHO) program in Canada. Led by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, the program aims to reduce the impacts of commercial shipping on at-risk killer whales off the coast of British Columbia. The Port Authority encourages ships to voluntarily slow down to help create a quieter underwater environment in critical habitats such as Haro Strait, Boundary Pass and Swiftsure Bank.
