Since 2026, Mr Yasuhisa Okamoto has served as Senior Vice President, Sales & Logistics, overseeing the overall sales and logistics strategy for Canadian wood pellets. In addition to conventional white pellets, he is leading the development and market rollout of high-value wood pellets.
Since 2022, he has served as Managing Director of Drax Asia Japan, leading the business development team in Asia and the Tokyo office, and driving the growth of the biomass business that supports the transition to a net-zero society.
In 2002, he established the biomass business at Sumitomo Corporation and led the expansion of the wood pellet market in Japan. In South America and Canada, he promoted upstream integration into wood pellet manufacturing. He also supported the sales structure for the company’s investment in Pacific BioEnergy Corporation as Senior Vice President, Sales & Logistics, focusing on ensuring the long-term sustainability and traceability of wood pellets and wood chips.
