Three of Drax Power Station’s intermediate pressure (IP) turbines are to be upgraded under a new contract with Siemens Energy Service Fossil in Newcastle. The new modules will be supplied by Siemens and installed by a joint Drax-Siemens team. The modules will contribute to Drax’s efficiency improvement programme.

Drax ’s commitment to improve the health and wellbeing of its staff was recognised when it was presented with a Health Heart Mark – Bronze Award at a ceremony at Drax Power Station today. The recognition comes after Drax employees took part in various initiatives to improve their wellbeing and promote healthy living.

Senior directors from Siemens AG, the global engineering and technology services company, visited Drax Power Station today (Wednesday 26 September) as part of celebrations to mark the end of the £100 million turbine upgrade project which has taken five years to complete.
